One Spreadsheet to Replace all Productivity Tools & Apps
Productivity tools?
I’ve tried them all.
Well, probably not all (there must be hundreds out there!) - but many.
Asana, Trello, Wunderlist, Todo, Monday, Teamwork, Basecamp, ClickUp, Meistertask, and those are just the ones I can think of right now.
Each of those has a few great features, and a few things that don’t work for everything…
Right now, I’m using ClickUp for my own team - and so far, I haven’t seen a productivity tool for team projects that can beat that.
However, for myself, I use a simple Excel spreadsheet.
My spreadsheet is the first thing I open in the morning (even before I start working - and the last thing I’ll close before shutting down my computer… and it performs so many tasks at once.
Brain dump: a place to quickly dump ideas I want to work on later
Link dump: a place to quickly save links I want to go back to later (e.g. because I want to schedule it to my Facebook page, or it’s a video I want to watch, or something I need to do)
Calendar: I can easily see what I need to do today & this week, without being distracted by my client calendars
To-do list: it keeps track of EVERYTHING I need to do - from small tasks to bigger projects
Project planning
Meeting prep: I’ll jot down notes in my “meetings” tab, so I don’t forget to mention it during a meeting
Financial: yes, I’ll even use that same Excel file to keep track of my financial stuff.

Do You Use a Productivity Spreadsheet?
If you like what you see - I’ve created a template that you can download. And for those who don’t have Excel, I’ve added a Google spreadsheet.
(For me, a Google spreadsheet doesn’t work because I want my spreadsheet to be available day & night, online & offline; but if it works better for you, then by all means grab it!)
